Why We Love Competition at Move Well

On Saturday 27th June at Move Well, Northwood, we held our annual Move Well Games and as always, it reminded us of why we believe competition can be one of the most powerful parts of a fitness journey.
Not because everyone wants to win – but because everyone has the chance to discover what they are capable of.
During the throwdown, members of the gym took on challenges of strength, endurance and metcon (think circuits) cheering each other on from the sidelines, celebrating personal bests and stepping outside their comfort zones. Some have been training or playing sport for years. Others have only recently walked through our doors having never exercised before.
That is what makes us proud.
At Move Well, we don’t see fitness as something you do simply to change how you look. We see it as something that helps you live more confidently, move more freely and experience things you never thought possible.
For some members, that has meant completing their first 10k, half or full marathon, or taking on HYROX or ATHX competitions. Others simply feel strong enough to keep up with their children, hike on holiday or carry heavy things at home without thinking twice.

Competition isn’t about being the best in the room.
It’s about becoming a better version of yourself than yesterday.
Whether your goal is to stand on a start line, lift a heavier weight, improve your fitness or simply feel healthier and happier, we’ll help you build the confidence and ability to get there. And always with an element of fun.
Because fitness isn’t a six-week project.
It’s a lifestyle.
And there’s nothing better than sharing that journey with a community that genuinely wants to see you succeed.
